Triple Crown® Balancer Gold is a highly fortified vitamin/mineral supplement with no soy and no molasses for horses of any age. Ideal for easy keepers, Balancer Gold can be used to balance pasture and/or hay, improve nutrition in diets when feeding below the recommended feeding rate or when mixing with whole grains (corn, oats, barley).

Triple Crown® Balancer Gold goes beyond by providing: Enhanced gastric support with a seaweed-derived calcium source, optimal amino acid balance with added whey protein and improved blood glucose responsiveness from Chromium. Balancer Gold is also soy-free.

Gastric Buffering — helps reduce the incidence/severity of ulcers and improve overall gut health.

Whey Protein — optimal amino acid balance supports muscle growth and development.

Chromium — helps improve insulin sensitivity.

Triple Crown® Balancer Gold is designed to provide essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to horses that receive most of their calories from pasture, hay, or unfortified grains. Begin by feeding according to your horse’s body weight and diet type. After monitoring your horse’s body condition and performance, the feeding rate can be adjusted slightly to maintain optimal weight and nutritional balance.

Balancing Pasture and/or Hay Diets

When feeding horses that primarily consume pasture or hay, Triple Crown Balancer Gold helps ensure proper vitamin and mineral fortification. These recommendations assume that the horse is consuming at least 1.5% to 2% of its body weight in forage (hay or pasture) daily.

A 600-pound horse should receive approximately 0.5 to 0.75 pounds per day.

A 900-pound horse typically requires 0.75 to 1 pound daily.

An 1,100-pound horse should receive approximately 1 to 1.5 pounds per day, while a 1,300-pound horse generally requires about 1.5 pounds daily.

For younger horses, weanlings weighing between 400 and 600 pounds should receive approximately 0.5 to 0.75 pounds daily, while yearlings weighing 700 to 800 pounds typically require about 1 pound per day.

These feeding rates help supply balanced nutrition when forage forms the majority of the diet. Individual needs may vary depending on age, metabolism, work level, weather conditions, and overall health.

Balancing Unfortified Grain Diets

Triple Crown® Balancer Gold can also be used to balance diets that include unfortified grains such as oats, corn, barley, rice bran, or beet pulp. When feeding these grains along with forage, the same approximate feeding ranges apply based on body weight.

A 600-pound horse generally requires 0.5 to 0.75 pounds per day, while a 900-pound horse typically needs 0.75 to 1 pound daily. Horses weighing around 1,100 pounds should receive 1 to 1.5 pounds per day, and 1,300-pound horses typically require about 1.5 pounds daily. For younger horses, weanlings between 400 and 600 pounds should receive 0.5 to 0.75 pounds per day, and yearlings weighing 700 to 800 pounds should receive about 1 pound per day.

If additional calories are needed to maintain desired body condition, adjust the amount of forage or unfortified grains rather than increasing the balancer above recommended levels. If a horse requires significantly more feed to maintain weight, consider transitioning to Triple Crown Lite or adding a Triple Crown performance or senior feed.

Balancing Diets When Feeding Less Than the Recommended Amount of Fortified Feed

When horses are receiving smaller amounts of fortified grain or concentrate feeds, Triple Crown Balancer Gold can be used to help meet vitamin and mineral requirements.

A 600-pound horse may require approximately 0.25 to 0.50 pounds per day, while a 900-pound horse typically needs 0.50 to 0.75 pounds daily. Horses weighing around 1,100 pounds generally require 0.75 to 1 pound per day, while 1,300-pound horses may need approximately 1.5 to 2 pounds daily depending on the rest of the diet. For young horses, weanlings weighing 400 to 600 pounds should receive about 0.50 to 0.75 pounds daily, and yearlings weighing 700 to 800 pounds should receive approximately 1 pound per day.

General Feeding Guidelines

Horse nutritional needs can vary based on age, workload, metabolism, climate, and forage quality, so adjustments may be necessary to maintain ideal body condition. Provide horses with free-choice salt and unlimited access to fresh, clean water at all times.

Store feed in a cool, dry location and inspect it regularly to ensure freshness. Do not use feed that appears old, moldy, or contaminated with insects.

Caution

Follow all label directions carefully. Chromium supplementation should not exceed 4 mg per day. Feeding added selenium above 0.30 ppm in the total diet is prohibited. When fed as directed, Triple Crown Balancer Gold provides no more than 3 mg of added selenium per horse per day.

This product contains added copper and should not be fed to sheep.
