Preparation & Mixing Directions

Weight is always the most accurate way to measure CertiFeed® All-Milk 20-20 AM NM MOS Calf Milk Replacer with APEX®, 50 lb Bag. Because product densities vary, use a scale first to determine how much powder your scoop holds (0.5 lb / 8 oz dry weight per 2 quarts of warm water).

• Step 1 — Measure Water: Fill mixing container with half of the required total volume of warm water (110°F–115°F).
• Step 2 — Add Powder & Whisk: Pour the measured milk replacer powder on top of the water and mix using a wire whisk with a rolling motion until dissolved.
• Step 3 — Bring to Volume & Temperature: Add warm or cool water to bring the solution to the total volume required and confirm a final feeding temperature of 100°F–105°F.
• Consistency Tip: Use a thermometer at every feeding to assure the proper temperature, and feed at the same time each day.

Daily Feeding Schedule

• Day 1 (Colostrum Phase): Feed 4 quarts of clean, high-quality colostrum within the first 2 hours of birth, and an additional 2 quarts 6 to 12 hours later.
• Day 2 Through Weaning (Standard Rate): Mix 8 oz (0.5 lb) of milk replacer powder into 2 quarts of warm water (100°F–105°F) and feed twice daily (1.0 lb total dry powder per calf per day).
• Large Breeds & Cold Weather Feeding: Larger calves or calves housed in cold weather require 50% more solution — feed 3 quarts twice daily (1.5 lb total dry powder per day) or 2 quarts three times daily.
• Starter Grain & Water: Begin offering fresh, clean water and a high-quality calf starter free-choice in the first week. Wean only when the calf is consuming at least 1.5 to 2.0 lb of calf starter per day for 3 consecutive days.

Sanitation & Storage Guidelines

Clean and sanitize all mixing and feeding equipment (buckets, bottles, nipples, and whisks) after every feeding. Store unopened bags in a cool, dry location off the floor; reseal opened bags tightly to protect from moisture and pests.
