• One pound equals approximately 3 cups.
• New plantings: Dig a hole twice as wide and the same depth as the root ball; mix Tree-tone into the amended backfill at the rate for the tree's trunk diameter (see application chart), plant, water well, and mulch.
• Established trees: Feed twice a year, in early spring before growth starts and in fall after leaves drop. Small trees: sprinkle around the drip line. Large trees (over 6 in. trunk): auger 3 in.-wide, 12-18 in.-deep holes 2-3 ft. apart under the drip line, divide Tree-tone evenly among them, backfill, and water.
• Application rate by trunk diameter: up to 2 in. = 3 lb.; 2-4 in. = 4 lb.; 4-6 in. = 5 lb.; over 6 in. = 6 lb.
