• Garden beds: mix 4 lb per 100 sq ft into the top 4 in. of soil
• New plantings: mix 1 cup of Plant-tone into the amended backfill soil at planting time
• Shrubs: 1 cup per foot of drip-line diameter (double for diameters over 3 ft); trees: 3 lb per inch of trunk diameter (double for trunks over 6 in.) — feed in spring and fall
• Flowers & vegetables: 1 cup per plant, once a month during the growing season
