• Trees: apply 1 lb. per inch of trunk diameter (triple the amount for trunks 3 in. or more in diameter).
• Shrubs: apply 1 cup per foot of drip-line diameter (double for drip lines 3 ft. or more).
• New garden beds: work 10 lb. per 100 sq ft into the top 4-5 in. of soil; established beds: apply 5 lb. per 100 sq ft.
• Container plants: 2 cups per cubic foot of soil when planting, or 1 tsp. per 3 in. of pot diameter for established plants.
• Feed in spring and again in late fall at half the spring rate; do not apply to frozen soil.
