• Shrubs: spread the recommended amount around the drip line and water thoroughly (if mulched, pull mulch back first or double the rate).
• Shrub rate: 1 cup per foot of branch spread (double for spreads over 3 ft).
• Trees: dig 3-inch-wide holes 12-18 inches deep around the drip line, spaced 2-3 ft apart; divide product evenly among holes, backfill, and water.
• Tree rate: 1 lb. per inch of trunk diameter (triple the amount for trunks 3 in. or larger).
• New beds: 10 lb. per 100 sq ft worked into the top 4-5 inches of soil.
• Established beds: 5 lb. per 100 sq ft.
