Standlee Premium Western Forage Certified Timothy Grass Pellets are made from high-quality sun-cured forage formed into ¼ inch timothy hay pellets that are easy to measure and feed. Timothy pellets for horses are highly palatable, low to moderate in protein, and high in digestible fiber. This product is Certified Noxious Weed Free which is required by federal and state authorities in protected areas.

What "Certified Weed Free" means

Noxious weeds are invasive plants that grow aggressively and take moisture, nutrients and sunlight from native species. As they spread they smother those plants and cut wildlife off from food, nesting areas and water. A "Certified" forage has been inspected and is free of them — so buying certified forage helps keep noxious weeds from spreading onto private and public land, and it is what allows these pellets into National Parks and forests.

Forage is the most important component of a horse's diet and should be fed at a rate of 1.5–2.5% of the horse's body weight.

Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee over a seven to fourteen (7–14) day period.

For increased hydration, aggressive eaters, or horses with dental issues, pellets are recommended to be fed wet — soaked in water (2 parts water to 1 part pellets) for 30 minutes, or until properly softened.

Standlee recommends that pelleted forage is not the sole source of forage for horses, since feeding some long-stem forage may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices.
