Semican Mini Alfalfa Cubes may be fed as a forage supplement, hay replacement, or part of a complete feeding program. As a forage substitute, hay cubes and pellets may be fed at approximately 1.5% to 2.5% of body weight daily depending on workload, condition, and forage requirements. For a 1,000 lb horse, this generally equals approximately 15 to 25 lbs per day. When used as a forage supplement, feeding rates typically range from 3 to 10 lbs daily depending on the overall diet.

For best results:

• Introduce gradually over a 7–10 day period
  
• Divide total daily feedings into multiple smaller meals
  
• Provide fresh, clean water and free-choice salt at all times
  
• Soaking cubes before feeding is recommended for senior horses, horses with poor teeth, or horses prone to choking
