Support your horse’s daily forage needs with Semican Mini Alfalfa Cubes Horse Feed, made from premium-quality alfalfa hay in a convenient mini-cube format. These compact forage cubes are designed to provide consistent nutrition, excellent digestibility, and easy feeding for horses of all ages and activity levels. Semican forage products are produced using high-quality natural ingredients and are recognized for being non-GMO and free from additives or fillers.
Made from 100% natural alfalfa, these mini-cubes are naturally high in fiber and low in sugar and starch, making them suitable for many feeding programs, including horses requiring controlled carbohydrate diets such as those with Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) or Cushing’s syndrome. Their low-dust composition also makes them a healthier feeding choice for horses with respiratory sensitivities or breathing challenges.
The mini-cube size allows for easier chewing, measuring, soaking, and mixing into daily rations compared to traditional hay. Many horse owners and feeding programs use soaked cubes for senior horses, horses with dental concerns, or horses prone to choking. Horse owners discussing forage cubes commonly recommend soaking cubes prior to feeding for improved softness and hydration support.
Semican Mini Alfalfa Cubes may be fed as a forage supplement, hay replacement, or part of a complete feeding program. As a forage substitute, hay cubes and pellets may be fed at approximately 1.5% to 2.5% of body weight daily depending on workload, condition, and forage requirements. For a 1,000 lb horse, this generally equals approximately 15 to 25 lbs per day. When used as a forage supplement, feeding rates typically range from 3 to 10 lbs daily depending on the overall diet.
For best results:
Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area protected from moisture, rodents, and insects. Do not feed moldy or contaminated feed. Use only as directed.
