This product can be used either as a supplement to a forage-based diet or as a complete replacement for hay when additional fiber and nutrition are required. Feeding amounts should be adjusted based on your horse’s body condition, activity level, metabolism, and overall dietary program.

Feeding as a Supplement to Hay or Pasture

When used alongside hay or pasture, this product helps provide additional fiber and nutritional support. For an average 1,100-pound horse, feed approximately 4 to 6 pounds per day in addition to the regular forage portion of the diet. The exact amount may be adjusted depending on the horse’s workload, forage quality, and body condition. Monitor your horse regularly and increase or decrease feeding amounts as necessary to maintain optimal weight and condition.

Feeding as a Complete Hay Replacement

For horses that cannot consume hay or pasture, this product can be used as a complete hay replacement. In this case, an 1,100-pound horse should receive approximately 15 to 20 pounds per day, divided into several meals to support proper digestion and consistent nutrient intake.

Additional Feeding Considerations

This product may be mixed with water before feeding to help increase hydration, improve palatability, and create a softer texture that may be easier for horses with dental issues or chewing difficulties. It can also be mixed with the grain portion of the diet to help slow the rate of feed intake and encourage better digestion.

Always provide free-choice salt and unlimited access to fresh, clean water. Store the product in a cool, dry location to maintain freshness and quality. Inspect the feed daily before use, and do not feed if the product appears old, moldy, or contaminated with insects, as this may pose health risks to the animal.
