Triple Crown® Senior Gold goes beyond by providing: enhanced gastric support with a seaweed-derived calcium source, optimal amino acid balance with added whey protein and improved glucose utilization from Chromium which may improve performance and delay fatigue. Senior Gold is a higher-fat senior feed from soy oil, rice bran and flaxseed providing additional calories to meet the needs of performance horses and hard keepers.

Triple Crown® Senior Gold is specially formulated to support the nutritional needs of senior horses while providing easily digestible fiber, balanced nutrients, and controlled energy levels. Feeding amounts should be based on your horse’s body weight, activity level, metabolism, and overall body condition. Monitor your horse regularly and adjust the feeding rate as needed to maintain optimal weight and health.

When feeding Triple Crown® Senior Gold alongside hay or pasture, it should be provided as a supplement to a forage-based diet. A 600-pound horse typically requires approximately 3 to 4 pounds of Triple Crown Senior Gold per day, along with a minimum of 9 to 12 pounds of forage daily to support healthy digestion and fiber intake.

A 900-pound horse generally requires about 4 to 9 pounds of Triple Crown® Senior Gold per day, together with 13.5 to 18 pounds of hay or pasture. Horses weighing around 1,100 pounds usually need approximately 5 to 11 pounds per day, along with 16.5 to 22 pounds of forage to maintain proper digestive function.

For larger horses weighing approximately 1,300 pounds, the recommended feeding range is about 6 to 12.5 pounds of Triple Crown® Senior Gold daily, while maintaining 19.5 to 26 pounds of hay or pasture in the diet.

These feeding recommendations are based on average daily nutritional requirements. Individual horses may require adjustments depending on age, workload, metabolism, weather conditions, and forage quality. Increase or decrease the feeding amount as necessary to maintain the desired body condition.

If feeding less than the recommended daily amount, the diet should be supplemented with a Triple Crown® balancer feed to ensure the horse receives adequate vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.

Divide the total daily feeding amount into multiple meals. Do not feed more than 0.5% of the horse’s body weight in Triple Crown Senior Gold in a single meal. When feeding this maximum amount, allow 3 to 4 hours between meals to promote proper digestion and reduce the risk of digestive upset.

Optional Mash Feeding

Triple Crown® Senior Gold can be easily turned into an EZ Mash by adding water prior to feeding. This is especially beneficial for horses with poor teeth, respiratory issues, or horses prone to choking. To prepare, add water 10 to 15 minutes before feeding, adjusting the amount of water to reach the consistency preferred by the individual horse.

General Feeding Guidelines

Always provide horses with free-choice salt and unlimited access to fresh, clean water. Store the product in a cool, dry location to maintain freshness and nutritional quality. Inspect the feed daily and do not feed if the product is old, moldy, or contaminated with insects, as this may pose health risks.

Caution

Follow label directions carefully. Chromium supplementation should not exceed 4 mg per day. This product contains added copper and should not be fed to sheep.
