This product can be incorporated into a horse’s feeding program in several ways depending on nutritional needs, body condition, and overall diet. It may be used as a supplement to forage, a partial replacement for grain, or as a complete diet, depending on the feeding goals.
When used as a supplement to a forage-based diet, feed approximately 4 to 6 pounds per day for a 1,100-pound horse. In this case, the product works alongside hay or pasture to provide additional nutrients and support overall condition. Adjust the feeding rate as needed depending on the horse’s body condition, workload, and forage quality.
This product can also be used to replace a portion of the traditional grain or concentrate portion of the diet. For a 1,100-pound horse, feed approximately 10 pounds per day when using the product as a grain replacement. When feeding in this manner, it should always be combined with a minimum of 0.50% of the horse’s body weight in hay or pasture to ensure adequate fiber intake and support healthy digestion.
When used as a complete feeding program, the product can provide the majority of the horse’s nutritional needs. For a 1,100-pound horse, feed approximately 15 to 20 pounds per day, divided into multiple meals to promote proper digestion and nutrient utilization. Adjust the amount as needed to maintain the desired body condition and energy level.
The product may be mixed with water prior to feeding to help improve hydration and palatability. Moistening the feed can also make it easier to consume for horses that require a softer diet. It may also be combined with the grain portion of the diet to help slow the rate of intake, which can be beneficial for horses that tend to eat quickly.
Always provide horses with free-choice salt and unlimited access to fresh, clean water. Store the product in a cool, dry location to maintain freshness and quality. Inspect the feed daily and do not feed if the product is old, moldy, or contaminated with insects, as this may cause health issues.
Follow label directions carefully. Chromium supplementation should not exceed 4 mg per day. This product contains added copper and should not be fed to sheep.
