Triple Crown Naturals Alfalfa Forage Cubes, made with pre and mid bloom, non-GMO alfalfa, are recommended to use during hay shortages or to supplement poor quality hay or pasture. Dehydrated to reduce dust, Triple Crown Naturals Alfalfa Forage Cubes are ideal for horses with respiratory issues.
100% alfalfa hay
This product can be used either as a supplement to hay or pasture or as a complete forage replacement, depending on the horse’s nutritional needs and feeding program.
When used alongside hay or pasture, this product provides additional fiber and nutritional support. For a 1,000-pound horse, feed approximately 4 to 6 pounds per day in combination with the horse’s regular forage ration. The exact feeding amount may vary depending on factors such as body condition, workload, forage quality, and environmental conditions. Monitor your horse regularly and adjust the feeding rate as needed to maintain proper body weight and condition.
This product may also be used to replace hay entirely when necessary. In this case, feed approximately 1.5% to 2% of the horse’s body weight per day. For a 1,000-pound horse, this equals about 15 to 20 pounds per day, divided into multiple feedings throughout the day to support proper digestion and steady nutrient intake.
For older horses, horses with dental issues, or horses prone to choking, the cubes may be soaked in warm water prior to feeding. Allow the cubes to absorb water until they soften and form a mash, which makes the feed easier to chew and swallow. Feeding from a feed tub placed at ground level is recommended, as this promotes a more natural eating posture and may help support digestive health.
Always provide horses with free-choice salt and unlimited access to fresh, clean water. Store the product in a cool, dry location to maintain freshness and quality. Inspect the feed daily and do not feed if the product appears old, moldy, or contaminated with insects, as this may pose health risks to the animal.
