Feed this product according to the horse’s body condition, age, and activity level, dividing the total daily amount into two or more meals per day. Provide good-quality hay or pasture at a rate of 1.0 to 1.75 lb per 100 lb of body weight (or equivalent per 100 kg) to ensure that at least 50% of the total diet is supplied by forage. Feeding rates should be adjusted as needed, particularly for performance horses or those with changing nutritional demands. Typical intake ranges include 0.50 to 0.75 lb per 100 lb of body weight for pregnant mares; 1.00 to 1.50 lb for mares in early lactation (foaling to 3 months); 0.75 to 1.00 lb for mares in late lactation (3 months to weaning); 1.50 to 1.75 lb for growing weanlings receiving creep feed; and 0.75 to 1.50 lb for yearlings.
