Omolene® 200 Performance Horse Feed is designed to be fed with good-quality hay or pasture to support performance horses, breeding horses, and growing yearlings. Begin feeding according to your horse’s body weight and lifestyle category. After observing body condition and performance over time, gradually adjust the feeding rate up or down to maintain ideal weight and condition.

Always provide a minimum amount of good-quality hay or equivalent pasture daily.

Feeding rates and forage may be adjusted during lactation. Additional calories may be supplied by top-dressing with Purina® Amplify® High Fat Supplement. Hard-working horses may also benefit from supplementation with Purina® SuperSport® Amino Acid Supplement.

Use the lower feeding rate to support moderate growth.

Use the higher feeding rate to support more rapid growth.

Minimum Feeding Requirements

• Mature horses: Do not feed less than 0.3 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight per day (3 lbs per 1,000-lb horse).
  
• Yearlings: Do not feed less than 0.75 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight per day (3.75 lbs per 500-lb horse).
  

If a horse gains excessive weight at the minimum feeding rate, transition to Purina® Enrich Plus® Ration Balancing Horse Feed to provide balanced nutrition with fewer calories.

Best Feeding Practices

Feeding rates vary depending on metabolism, temperament, health status, forage quality, climate, and workload.

• Feed at regular times, at least twice daily
  
• Do not feed more than 0.5 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight per meal
  
• Do not feed free-choice
  
• Prevent rapid eating
  

Reduce or delay feeding if a horse is hot, excited, in pain, feverish, or experiencing diarrhea. Consult your veterinarian if issues arise.

Always provide:

• 1.0–1.2 lbs of good-quality hay per 100 lbs of body weight daily
  
• Fresh, clean water at all times
  
• Free-choice salt
  
• Routine dental care, parasite control, and veterinary supervision
  

Changing to Omolene® 200

Transition gradually over 7–10 days:

• Mix new feed with old feed
  
• Gradually increase Omolene® 200 while decreasing the previous feed
  
• Do not change feeding rates by more than 1 lb per day per horse
  

Caution

Store in a dry, well-ventilated area, protected from rodents and insects.

Do not feed moldy or insect-infested feed, as it may cause illness, performance loss, or death.
