Omolene® 400 Complete Advantage® Horse Feed is a nutritionally balanced, roughage-containing complete feed designed to be fed with or without hay. Because it contains high-quality roughage, it can serve as the sole ration. However, it may also be fed alongside hay or pasture if desired.

Begin feeding according to your horse’s body weight and lifestyle category. After observing body condition and performance over time, gradually increase or decrease the feeding rate to maintain ideal weight and condition.

Daily Feeding Rates

Mature Horse

The daily feeding rate of Omolene® 400 Complete Advantage® Horse Feed depends on your horse’s body weight and activity level.

For an 800-pound mature horse, feed:

• 8.75 lbs per day for maintenance,
  
• 10.50 lbs per day for light work,
  
• 12.25 lbs per day for moderate work, and
  
• 9.00 lbs per day during early gestation (first 250 days).
  

For a 1,000-pound mature horse, feed:

• 10.75 lbs per day for maintenance,
  
• 13.00 lbs per day for light work,
  
• 15.00 lbs per day for moderate work, and
  
• 11.00 lbs per day during early gestation.
  

For a 1,200-pound mature horse, feed:

• 13.00 lbs per day for maintenance,
  
• 15.50 lbs per day for light work,
  
• 18.25 lbs per day for moderate work, and
  
• 13.25 lbs per day during early gestation.
  

Feeding Without Hay (Complete Feed Program)

Omolene® 400 may be fed as a complete feed without additional hay.

To meet nutrient requirements:

• Do not feed less than 0.6 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight per day
  
  (Example: 6 lbs per day for a 1,000-lb horse)
  

To meet fiber requirements:

• Do not feed less than 1.2 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight per day of Omolene® 400 and hay or pasture equivalent combined.
  

When fed as the sole ration (no hay), divide the total daily amount into at least three meals per day to support digestive health.

Feeding With Hay or Pasture

If feeding hay or allowing pasture access, Omolene® 400 feeding rates may be reduced accordingly while maintaining proper body condition.

Monitor your horse’s weight and topline regularly and adjust feeding gradually as needed.

Important Feeding Guidelines

Feeding rates will vary depending on size, metabolism, forage quality, climate, health status, and activity level.

For best results:

• Feed at regular times, at least twice daily
  
• When fed as a complete feed (no hay), provide a minimum of three meals per day
  
• Do not feed more than 0.8 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight per meal
  
  (Example: 8 lbs per meal for a 1,000-lb horse)
  
• Do not feed free-choice
  
• Prevent rapid eating
  

Reduce or delay feeding if a horse is hot, excited, in pain, has fever, or is experiencing diarrhea. Consult your veterinarian if problems arise.

Always provide:

• Fresh, clean water at all times
  
• Free-choice salt
  
• Routine dental exams, parasite control, and veterinary care
  

Changing to Omolene® 400

Transition gradually over 7–10 days:

1. Mix the new feed with the old feed.
   
2. Gradually increase Omolene® 400 while decreasing the previous feed.
   
3. Do not change feeding rates by more than 1 lb per day per horse.
   

Gradual transitions help support digestive health and maintain consistent intake.

Caution

Store in a dry, well-ventilated area, protected from rodents and insects.

Do not feed moldy or insect-infested feed, as it may cause illness, performance loss, or death.
