Maintenance horses generally require approximately 0.25 to 0.50 pounds of feed per 100 pounds of body weight daily. Horses in light exercise may require around 0.50 to 0.75 pounds per 100 pounds of body weight each day, while horses in moderate work may benefit from approximately 0.75 to 1.00 pound per 100 pounds of body weight daily.

Performance horses in heavy training or intense competition programs may require 1.00 to 1.50 pounds per 100 pounds of body weight daily to maintain energy levels, condition, and recovery support.
