Feeding the Young Horse

Triple Crown Growth should be fed to foals, weanlings, and yearlings alongside free-choice access to high-quality hay and/or pasture, providing at least 1.5% to 2% of body weight in forage daily, as well as fresh, clean water and regular exercise.

For horses expected to mature at 600 lbs., feed approximately 2 to 2.5 pounds per day for foals aged 4 to 6 months, 2.5 to 3.25 pounds per day for weanlings aged 6 to 12 months, and 1.75 to 2.25 pounds per day for yearlings aged 12 to 24 months.

For horses expected to mature at 900 lbs., provide 3 to 3.75 pounds per day for foals, 3.75 to 5 pounds per day for weanlings, and 3.5 to 4 pounds per day for yearlings.

For horses expected to mature at 1,100 lbs., feed 3.75 to 4.75 pounds per day for foals, 4.75 to 6 pounds per day for weanlings, and 4.25 to 5 pounds per day for yearlings.

For horses expected to mature at 1,300 lbs., provide 4.5 to 5.5 pounds per day for foals, 5.5 to 7 pounds per day for weanlings, and 5 to 6 pounds per day for yearlings.

Adjust feeding levels as needed to maintain steady, healthy growth and proper body condition.

Feeding the Broodmare

Triple Crown Growth is also ideal for broodmares during late pregnancy and lactation, when nutritional demands are significantly increased.

For broodmares with a mature weight of 600 lbs., feed approximately 1.5 to 2.5 pounds per day during late pregnancy, increasing to 3.25 to 4.75 pounds per day during lactation.

For 900 lb. broodmares, provide 2 to 3 pounds per day during late pregnancy and 4.75 to 9 pounds per day during lactation.

For broodmares weighing 1,100 lbs., feed 2.5 to 4 pounds per day during late pregnancy and 6 to 11 pounds per day during lactation.

For larger broodmares at 1,300 lbs., provide 3 to 6 pounds per day during late pregnancy and 7 to 12 pounds per day during lactation.

Adjust feeding rates as needed to maintain optimal body condition and support milk production.

General Feeding Guidelines

Feeding recommendations are based on average daily requirements. Individual horse needs may vary depending on age, growth rate, metabolism, workload, weather conditions, and forage quality. Feed enough Triple Crown Growth to maintain the desired body condition, increasing or decreasing amounts as necessary.

Do not feed more than 0.50% of the horse’s body weight in a single meal. If feeding larger amounts, divide into multiple feedings and allow 3 to 4 hours between meals to support proper digestion and nutrient absorption.

If feeding less than the recommended daily amount, supplement the diet with a Triple Crown Balancer, Balancer Gold, or Diamond Balancer to ensure adequate nutrient intake.

Storage and Care

Always provide free-choice salt and unlimited access to fresh, clean water. Store the product in a cool, dry location to maintain freshness. Inspect feed daily and do not use if it is old, moldy, or contaminated with insects, as this may be harmful to your horse.

Caution

Follow label directions carefully. Feeding added selenium above 0.30 ppm in the total diet is prohibited. When fed as directed, Triple Crown Growth does not exceed 3 mg of added selenium per horse per day. This product contains added copper and should not be fed to sheep.
